Thought I'd pop in here for a spell and update on some happenings in my world. I recently donated a piece to a fund raiser for the American Museum of Fly Fishing. My fly, A Royal Wulff, went to a club in NYC where it was part of a silent auction where they honored Tom Brokaw, a life long angler. It did pretty well. I was happy to support the museum. As an artist, one can hope that these events bring along more business. The museum has asked me to show in their up coming show for the Angling and Art event. This will be not only great exposure, but more opportunity for me to sell my work. As part of this event they are hosting a "Canvas and Cocktails" event where folks pay a fee and drink wine and get art instruction. Guess who was asked to be their "gracious instructor"? Yup! Me! I'm excited and a little terrified at all this attention.
I continue to accept commission work and am showing a few pieces at Studio Place Arts in Barre, VT. All very exciting.
It seems as though it is time to at least drop one day of my five day work week so I can dedicate a little more time to this growing... thing I've created. My flies seem to be, well, flying!
